The AquaDev Story

Our team of development specialists has been working on development projects all over the world. It was only until recently the team discovered a small scale project in a small rural village in Egypt that opened our eyes to the endless possibilities of this fascinating green technology.  Having consulted with specialists, engineers and consultants in the agricultural field in France, the next step would be to build an initiative for the humanitarian field.

Today small scale aquaponics systems are being developed in educational institutes all over the world. The technology is growing from smaller applications to larger agricultural operations. The ecosystem of aquaponics delivers on a number of areas that make the system a great area of learning in areas of nutrition, agronomy, biology and botany and sustainability studies, The cross-development properties of this technology make it a great fit to deal with the future impacts of climate change and food security related issues in developing countries in the future.

The Humanitarian Aspect

Thanks to the systems ability to thrive in a large variety of landscapes, the system has seen a growth of small scale aquaponic activity in the humanitarian domain. The UN Food and Agriculture organization has installed several small scale systems to combat food and nutrition security issues. AquaDevs upcoming project is being used to showcase this systems use as a small scale food security system using new applications of solar power and harvesting rainwater.
